Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

This qualification covers workers who use organisation policies, procedures and individual children's profiles to plan activities and provide care to children, facilitating their leisure and play and enabling them to achieve their developmental outcomes. Depending on the setting, workers may work under direct supervision or autonomously.

Qualification Requirements
To enrol, all applicants are required to: 
be over 18 years of age
complete the course Application Form, referring to the Terms and Conditions therein
pay the Application Fee
provide a Statement of Attainment for HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an educational and care setting
provide a Working With Children Check (Blue Card in Queensland)
comply with any course prerequisites
 
Qualification Award
The Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care is awarded to students who achieve Competency in the 18 units of the course, 17 of which are delivered through the ACMS course, with the unit HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an educational and care setting, being delivered externally. In addition, students must complete and be assessed for 120 hours of vocational placement.
 
Qualification Units
18 units are required for award of this qualification including 15 core units and 3 elective units. ACMS delivers 17 of these units. The HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an educational and care setting unit must be done externally and is not included in the cost of the course. A Statement of Attainment for this unit must be provided prior to vocational placement in this course.

Promote and provide heathy food and drinks

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to promote healthy eating and ensure that food and drinks provided are nutritious, appropriate for each child and prepared in a safe and hygienic manner.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults. ACMS does not offer this unit and it must be done externally and is not included in the cost of the ACMS course. A Statement of Attainment for this unit must be provided prior to vocational placement.
